Be Seen More exists to make a difference for Not-For-Profit organisations & visionary businesses.

 

Be Seen More is a visionary new content creation studio; forming strategic alliances between not-for-profit organisations and businesses who want to assist these organisations in a socially responsible context - helping the non-profits have greater visibility and showcasing the business for all the right reasons. 

Todd Starr, the founder and creative director of Be Seen More, started the concept as he noticed an opportunity to fill a gap in the market that was being under-served. Todd wanted to initially create his own podcast, but was unable to find a specialised studio in New Zealand that could accommodate. Seeing the rise in popularity of podcasting internationally, it was clear that there was a gap between the radio hosts and celebrities who can afford to create podcasts of less meaningful substance, and the many small businesses and organisations across New Zealand who could really benefit from this medium of marketing

What started with a vision to create a streamlined video podcasting service for small businesses to create marketing collateral easily and affordably, developed into a two armed business model seven or eight months later when Todd realised that this service could really benefit the many not-for-profit organisations across New Zealand doing amazing work in the community. And so the podcast empowerment programme at Be Seen More was established. 

Todd’s vision in creating the podcast empowerment programme is to remove the financial barrier that exists for not-for-profits in marketing and promoting their services. The inspiration for the model came from wanting to help socially responsible businesses that have big hearts to get the recognition that he thinks they deserve for the help and support they offer their communities. He was also inspired by personal connections with some local not-for-profits, and through relationships with them and just generally being an inquisitive person he got to the bottom of the biggest hurdles these organisations face; a lack of visibility and having to spend operating funds on services that Be Seen More believe they shouldn’t have to pay for. 

Todd believes there’s a lack of vision and creativity across New Zealand in the way that businesses and agencies support the not-for-profit sector. His ultimate goal at Be Seen More is to affect a culture shift in the way businesses across the country operate, so that more companies and entrepreneurs can be inspired to come up with ideas and solutions to help eradicate some of the problems that not-for-profits face, and ultimately do so in a way that also benefits their own interests. He wants to protect the potential of New Zealand’s not-for-profit sector, and help ensure their incredible work in the community can be continued. Todd recognises that the short-falls in the sector and the barriers that these organisations face are too big for Be Seen More to tackle alone, and so ultimately there’s no end goal for the business. Todd says ‘as long as there are organisations in other regions that need help and have a story to tell, and as long as there are visionary businesses in those regions who want to do good we will always have business to do.’
